Darley Moor, Matlock The Old Farmhouse Farm-based Holiday Cottage accommodation
Set in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Woodside Farm, Nr Matlock, was once a dairy farm is now run as a smallholding, standing in five acres with free-range chickens and sheep graze in the surrounding fields. The farm and holiday cottage occupy a super rural position with fantastic views over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside. We are ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and the areas many attractions, with Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and of course Matlock and Matlock Bath close by.
The farmhouse sleeps 4-5 people and the accommodation is as follows:
Lounge: Log burning stove,sofa bed and chairs, freeview colour television, video and DVD/CD player.Kitchen /Dining room: Table and chairs, oak beams, electric cooker and hob, refridgerator, microwave and washing machine.Shower Room: With wash basin and toilet.Drying room :With tumble dryer.Entrance hall: For storage of bikes etc.
Bedroom 1: One double bed with cot or Z-bed if required.Bedroom 2: Two single beds.Wash room: Wash basin and toilet.
Linen: Each of the beds are fitted with quilts and pillows. All bed linen is included plus towels and tea towels.Electricity:Included in the tariff.Cot and high chair: Provided on request.Outside: A small walled garden to the front and to the back a lawned area, patio table & chairs and portable barbecue are provided + new childrens play area with climbing frame. Washing line and pegs provided.Parking: For two cars directly outside the cottage.
Castleton Riding House Farm Cottages Farm-based Holiday Cottage accommodation
Riding House Farm is a traditional Derbyshire hill farm rearing beef and sheep. It nestles under the Losehill Ridge with wonderful south facing views across the Hope Valley. It is a walkers' paradise with direct access to the footpath network.
Riding House Farm is a working farm of 140 acres. If you bring your wellies you will be able to see the newborn lambs in Spring, visit the calf house and even feed the hens! There is an abundance of wildlife around especially in our own secluded bluebell wood.
Milkmaid's Cottage is a lovely spacious one-bedroom cottage with a 6' bed. It has two bathrooms and an optional double sofa bed in the sitting room for occasional use.
Shepherd's Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage, one double and one twin, with two bathrooms. It is ideal for four people. Many of the original old beams still feature in this cottage.
Both cottages are furnished and equipped to the same high standard with careful attention to detail to make your stay memorable. Each cottage has full central heating and double glazing, two bathrooms: one upstairs with a bath, basin and WC, and a downstairs shower room with basin and WC.
With TV, CD, DVD in the cosy sitting rooms and oven hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer in the kitchen areas everything is provided for you. There is also an adjacent laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for your free use. Wifi also available Outside is your private parking area with seating to enjoy a barbecue and drink, enjoying the view across the valley.
From your doorstep you can take the footpath directly to Lose Hill Ridge and enjoy another spectacular view over the Edale Valley to the famous Kinder Scout. David and Denise Matthews have farmed at Riding House for over 20 years. They are the modern day Shepherd and Milkmaid! If needed, they will be on hand to help you make the most of your stay in the Peak District National Park. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement
The Hope Valley is an ideal base for exploring the treasures of the Peak District. In addition to the wonderful scenery, there are numerous attractions including nearby Castleton caves and castle, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the plague village of Eyam. If you have any energy left after walking the hills, the Hope Valley offers climbing, cycling, pony trekking, swimming, angling, gliding and parascending. Or why not just relax!

Award winning holiday cottage in the heart of The Peak district National Park.
Nestling in the conservation village of Hollinsclough, this beautiful barn conversion was renovated by the owners in 2000 and boasts all the charm and character of a stone cottage with all the conveniences of a modern home.
The lounge is open to the eaves and there is a wood burning stove for added comfort.
The dining kitchen is also open to the eaves and comes fully equipped including a pine table which seats six comfortably. Completing the downstairs is a twin bedroom and a cloakroom/WC.
The main bathroom is upstairs next to the double bedroom.
Outside there is plenty of off road parking. The pretty garden contains a barbeque and picnic bench which faces the little brook which flows through the garden on its way to joining the nearby River Dove.
Hollinsclough is a delightful small village in the Upper Dove valley - there is wonderful scenery all around, and magnificent walking and cycling from the door.
Smoke/pet free. Sleeps up to four in a double room and a twin room. Travel cot available.
Lettings are Saturday to Saturday from £295 per week including fuel and linen.
Cressbrook No. 3, New Houses Self-catering Holiday Cottage accommodation
The terraced cottages known as New Houses were built around 1840 high above Miller's Dale, surrounded by the unique landscape of the Peak.
Sympathetically restored to create an attractive holiday home, No.3 offers wonderful walks from the doorstep and many other Peak attractions within a short drive.
Nearby Litton has excellent pub food and a proper village shop open every day. There are more shops and pubs in Tideswell, famous for the "Cathedral of the Peak". If you're looking for a green holiday, all this is within walking distance and there's also a daily bus from the door to Bakewell..

Our rooms have been thoughtfully renovated to a high standard to create as much comfort as possible, including a small fridge and wine glasses should you wish to 'bring a bottle' to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in your room.
Two Dales is perfectly situated for exploring the outstanding countryside of Derbyshire and visiting some of the famous houses and gardens in the area. These include Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.
There are many good restaurants and pubs some within walking distance or a short drive away from Chesterfield House. Many of which we do have listed.
We are within easy reach of Bakewell [famous for its puddings] and the Spa towns of Buxton and Matlock. You may even like to enjoy an evening at the Buxton Opera House.
There is variety for everyone. A family day out could include a trip to the steam railway which is a short walk from Two Dales. Gulliver's Kingdom,
Heights of Abraham and Crich Tramway Museum are all a short drive away. We are half an hours drive from the M1 and Derby , Nottingham and Sheffield are all within a reasonable distance.
Derbyshire is a haven for walkers so anyone intending to bring their hiking boots will certainly not be disappointed. There are hundreds of miles of amazing countryside to be explored and enjoyed and we have several books on planned routes, which we are more than happy to lend to our guests.
After a good nights sleep, you will be served a continental or hearty full English breakfast to set you up for the day. We also offer a lighter breakfast if preferred. We do try to cater for all special dietary requirements. [notice of these would be appreciated upon booking]. All our produce is locally sourced. We usually serve breakfast between 8.00 and 9.30a.m. however we try to be flexible to our guests arrangements and timetables.

Carsington Breach Farm Cottages Farm-based Holiday Cottage accommodation
In the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and on the edge of the Peak District, Breach Farm stands in fourteen acres and although we are no longer a working farm, sheep graze the fields and our free range hens take the right to roam seriously. We are situated half a mile outside Carsington, a small picturesque village with a pub and a small church. The farm is surrounded by wonderful scenery, with hills to the north and across the fields to the south Carsington Water sparkling in the valley.
It is an ideal location for exploring the Derbyshires many attractions, from the splendour of Chatsworth House and the many National Trust properties in the area to the thrills of Alton Towers. Exploring the local cycle trail - bike hire available for all ages and abilites and even electric bikes. Carsington Water with a variety of water sports to try and Carsington Fishery are less than a mile from the farm.
And of course exploring and walking in the White Peak with its limestone dales and the wide open spaces of the gritstone moors of the Dark Peak.
Damson and Crabtree Cottages have been sympathetically converted from a traditional stone byre, they have both been awarded a 4 Star grading by Visit England. The cottages are central heated, double glazed and are comfortably furnished with a mix of antiques and old pine. Each have their own contained garden, with patio furniture and barbecue.
We live in the main farmhouse, and are there if needed, but try to keep a low profile and not intrude on your holiday. Everything will be clean,warm and welcoming for your arrival and we hope your stay at Breach Farm will be as enjoyable as possible.
