Bakewell is a small market town situated in the heart of the Peak District. Every Monday is market day, which sees the town come to life, all the local farmers come to sell their cattle and sheep at auction in the Agricultural Centre. Other special dates in Bakewell are Well Dressing week, Carnival day and the two-day annual Bakewell Show. |

From Bakewell you can explore the beautiful Peak District National Park. There are many magnificent stately homes, such as Chatsworth House (shown opposite), Haddon Hall, Lyme Hall and Hardwick Hall, all within easy reach. |
