About Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is a traditional terraced cottage, restored to a high specification whilst retaining a warm and friendly atmosphere. The cottage is situated in the village of Tideswell in the area known as 'Town Head'. The cottage is well equipped with two bedrooms (one a double and one a single) and is a short walk from all the amenities of the village, including a small supermarket, old pubs offering home-cooked food, a village cafe and an ice cream parlour.

With its position in the heart of the Peak District National Park and with close proximity to the spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and the historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, this makes it the perfect spot for exploring the Peak District.

The cottage offers beatuful views looking out over open countryside and numerous birds, rabbits and the occasional fox can be seen on the hillside opposite. There is excellent walking and cycling from the door so this is the perfect base for walking, cycling or just relaxing in the Derbyshire countryside.

To the front of the property there is a decking area which is ideal for eating out as it catches the sun all day and is particularly pleasant on a warm summer evening watching the sun go down.

Accommodation

The property comprises two bedrooms - one double and one single. All bed linen is provided, but guests will need to bring their own towels.
The bathroom is fitted with a bath and shower, wash basin and WC.There is a fully fitted kitchen with pine units, electric hob and oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine.
The open plan lounge / dining room has a a real coal fire, colour TV, DVD player and CD player, plus a bed-settee which can sleep 2 on an occasional basis.Fuel and power is included.
Please note that the cottage is strictly NO SMOKING and we operate a NO PETS policy.

About Tideswell

The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park and is famous for its large impressive church, known as 'The Cathedral of the Peak'. The village has a bakery, a local Co-op, Post Office and general store, fruit shop, butchers, chemist and florists shop, as well as several pubs.

The village is well known for its impressive Welldressings which can be seen annually for a week around the 24th June. This festival ends with a carnival procession.
