The Anchor Inn

The Anchor Inn is situated at the junction of the A623 with the local Tideswell road and like many local inns it started its life as a farm, serving beer to thirsty local travellers. It has been an inn since at least the 1760s.

Stepping over the threshold today you will discover that many delightful period features have been retained, such as open fires and old oak beams.

The pub is run by Deborah and Paul, so you can be assured of a delicious meal any lunchtime or evening. The menu offers a choice of carefuly selected dishes to cater for all tastes and appetites at very reasonable prices.

The bar stocks a good range of liquid refreshment. Robinson's is the resident real ale, with a couple of guest beers which change every month. In winter months you may find mulled wine is also available.
